Brenda
L. Womack
Ms. Womack is an operations, supply-chain management,
and accounting professional with over 35 years of
experience in a variety of businesses including medical
and pharmacy. An adept troubleshooter for
organizations in limited resource conditions, she
is skilled at working in fast paced, highly competitive
environments. Her credentials include certifications
in production and inventory management and a black
belt in Six Sigma. She is proficient at
implementing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
in a variety of environments.
As operations improvement manager for PharMEDium LLC
in Cleveland, Ohio, Ms. Womack focuses on process
improvements and has broad responsibility for labeling,
packaging, and shipping in support of shipping orders
within 24 hours of receipt. The company
consistently exceeds monthly targets for line-item
fill rate, achieving world-class performance levels.
Ms. Womack was employed by Johnson & Johnson for 30
years in a broad range of positions and locations. Her
last role, distribution manager for international
shipments for multiple companies, involved shipping
to 74 countries weekly and meeting their individual
requirements.
Previously, as worldwide supply chain manager (Vascular
Access) for Ethicon Endo-Surgery Inc. of Cincinnati,
Ohio, Ms. Womack was responsible for supply chain
activities at manufacturing sites in the U.S., Italy,
and Mexico, and for interfacing with the hospital
services company to distribute U.S.–sourced finished
goods. Her achievements included creating
a sales and operations planning process for the Vascular
Access business, developing a vision and requirements
for future supply chain processes, reducing total
business unit inventory by 50%, and accomplishing
forecast and ERP system conversions from a prior organization.
In her tenure with Johnson & Johnson Medical Inc.,
Ms. Womack held a variety of roles including plant
manager in Tijuana, Mexico, and operations representative
for a new facility in Monterrey, Mexico, where she
facilitated the relocation of production lines and
was responsible for building required inventory coverage. At
the Southington, Connecticut, location, she served
as Special Projects manager (Acuvance® product development),
led 240-person staff, and was responsible for assembly,
packaging, molding, and extrusion operations. She
also managed a $200M expansion in molding capacity
and cost improvement programs for the area.
As plant manager for Johnson & Johnson’s Jacksonville,
Texas, facility, Ms. Womack upgraded a purchased facility
to corporate standards, achieved ISO 9001 certification,
reduced cycle time for make-to-order processing by
84%, and implemented a materials resource planning
and standard cost accounting system. At
the company’s Sherman, Texas, location, she held multiple
positions including senior financial analyst and Planning
and Purchasing manager. Her planning team
reduced raw materials inventory by 50%, work-in-process
by 67%, finished goods by 30%, and back orders by
70%.
Ms. Womack is a member of the Association for Manufacturing
Excellence and served as the organization’s vice president
of finance and administration from 1995 to 2002. She
has been an auditor for the Shingo Prize for Lean
Manufacturing since 2001.
